Indian Wind Power
If you develop the wind resources across the Great Plains area, Native American lands could be worth millions, if not billions. Enough wind resources to provide 15% of America's energy needs. The results are ocurring with the meltdown of the polar region. The Sioux built the first commercial wind turbine. More turbines are on the way. The protection of mother earth. The tribe will sell carbon credits. Indians don't have the capital to develop these projects themselves. These projects make money and it stays locally. They can only earn 5% of the profits. Tribes want to be full participants in projects on their lands. Tribes pay no federal taxes.
