Biogas: The Other Natural Gas
This is a gas range in a Costa Rican kitchen running on biogas derived from the manure of grass-fed cows. I spent the better part of my two years in Costa Rica building biodigesters to produce gas for cooking.
Biodigester
This is a biogas digester that I helped build in Costa Rica. We built 16 of these in all. It doesn't sound like much, but each one of these provides a family with all the cooking energy it needs. This means a lot to a family that would otherwise buy gas tanks from several 10's of kilometers away.

My solution tp the patent problem - I'd prefer that we simply did away with patents. Does McDonald's need a patent to sell hamburgers? Does Toyota need to patent the idea of a hybrid to sell ...
